Portrait of a Young Girl in Lace Blouse by Léon-François Comerre


Léon-François Comerre (1850-1916) was a French artist who won the Grand Prix de Rome in 1875, leading to a scholarship at the Villa de Medicis, Académie de France in Rome. He received prizes at the Paris Salons in 1875, 1881, and at the l'Exposition Universelle d'Anvers in 1885. Comerre's decorative works can be found in many public spaces in Paris, Lyon, and Saumur. His art is exhibited in museums worldwide, including in Algeria, the United States, and Romania.
