This monumental chandelier exemplifies Tiffany Studios’ late mastery of ecclesiastical lighting, combining opalescent Favrile glass with richly modeled gilt bronze. Suspended by chains and articulated through concentric rings, scrolling supports, and tassel finials, the fixture balances architectural weight with luminous warmth. The softly glowing glass panels diffuse light evenly, creating an atmosphere both ceremonial and intimate, well suited to sacred space.
Produced during the firm’s mature period, the chandelier reflects Tiffany Studios’ ability to merge craftsmanship, symbolism, and function. By the early 1920s, the studio was widely regarded as the preeminent American producer of artistic lighting, supplying major churches, public buildings, and institutions with bespoke works that unified decorative richness with structural clarity.
