Belgian Stained Glass Windows Featuring the Life of Christ (c. 1850)


Made for a chapel in Ghent, Belgium these mid-nineteenth-century nine stained-glass windows with hand-carved stone surrounds feature key moments from life of Jesus Christ, including his birth, carrying the cross, and the supper at Emmaus in the three windows that would have surrounded the sanctuary, and beautiful traditional Gothic geometric decorations in the panels of the six windows that lined the nave.
