A 19th century marble representation of Hermes, his young, athletic naked form smoothly hewn and naturalistically rendered. Seated on a stone pile draped with fabric, Hermes twists his torso to look over his right shoulder; his curls escape beneath his symbolic winged hat, and he hold a pouch held in his left hand, and at his feet lays his Greek kerykeion, which appears in a form of two snakes wrapped around a winged staff.
