April — The Things Which He Prayed Cannot Be Written
Scripture: 3 Nephi 17
The title comes directly from scripture, which tells us that Christ’s prayer was so sacred, “they cannot be written.” The painting reflects the intimacy of that moment—how near the people are to Him, and how still everything becomes. The palette softens. Light gathers gently across faces. There is no spectacle here—only presence.
Within the arc of the series, this scene acts as a sanctuary: a quiet pause between revelation and ritual. There is no sermon, no commandment—only communion. The viewer is left not with instruction, but with a feeling. This is what holiness looks like when it draws near enough to be felt.
