Early Victorian period, circa 1840–1855
This finely worked demi-parure comprises a necklace and a pair of earrings, executed in 18 karat gold with elaborate cannetille-style decoration. The set is centered by ten oval mixed-cut pink topazes totaling approximately 24.00 carats, complemented by two oval mixed-cut amethysts (approx. 0.55 carats total), one oval mixed-cut colorless topaz (approx. 0.75 carats), and one oval mixed-cut aquamarine (approx. 0.80 carats). Round cabochon turquoises, measuring approximately 2.00 mm in diameter, provide vivid chromatic contrast and reflect the Romantic-era taste for color and ornate surface detail.
