Wasatch Mountains (c.1869) by Gilbert Munger
The Wasatch Mountains, with an imposing view of Mount Olympus, Twin Peak and Lone Peak, create a striking vista in this landscape painting by American artist Gilbert Davis Munger (1837-1903), who painted many luminist-style paintings of Utah scenes. Munger pursued his artistic career as an apprentice engraver in Washington, D.C. before beginning his professional career as a painter in 1866.
