A harvest of beets, onions and fruit have been gathered in metal bowls and trays that are sitting on a wooden table with simple turned legs. The high-gloss of the table reflect the colours of the harvest, as well as the surfaces of the tin and wooden kitchen vessels, while the draped white cloth adds a light source to an otherwise heavily shadowed composition. This well-balanced composition with its heightened details and soft lighting are characteristic of Stills' aesthetic style and the influence of the Dutch masters. Signed "Aaron Stills" in bottom right corner.
Largely self-taught, Stills has been painting professionally since 2001 when he was introduced to still life and landscape painting with brief training at the Kings Academy of Art and Salt Lake Art Academy.
