A very, nineteenth-century French terra-cotta sculpture of pigeon on a roof tile. The sculpture comes from a Chateau outside of Lyon, where it was placed on the edge of the roofline — in humorous and beautiful imitation of the birds that would have visited the home. The sculpture is fine condition, and retains some of the moss accrued from its long-held placement outdoors.
