Portrait of an Italian Woman by Augusto Moriani

$850.00

Augusto Moriani (Italian, 1854-1913)

Antonio Augusto Moriani was a Neapolitan artist who specialized in watercolor genre portraits of “tipi napolitani”, or workaday people, around the Bay of Naples. He was not the first in Italy to produce a body of such portraits, but he was almost certainly among the first to do so in Naples, along with Edoardo Forlenza and Bernardo Hay.
