Orimono (Folding Paper). Series: Fujin Fuoku Zukushi (A Series on Customs of Ladies)


Winner of numerous national and international awards, the woodblock artist Ogata Gekkō (尾形月耕, 1859 – 1920), was prized for his sensitive and lifelike depictions of people. In this work, he show two elegant women, one arranging cherry blossoms, and and other changing into an elaborate and beautiful kimono.
