"Monarch of the Sea" by William K. McMinn
"Monarch of the Sea" was the largest sailing vessel to transport members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known colloquially as "Mormons") to the United States from Europe in the year 1861. This is a drawing of that very vessel drafted by English-born artist William Kimmins McMinn (1820-1898) who was known for his impressive and detailed ship paintings.
