Joseph, the Cupbearer and the Baker in Prison

By Anthonys Fine Art & Antiques

Painted in the style of the Dutch school, the events of Genesis 40 are captured in narrative work. The King of Egypt, angry with his two officials, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the same prison where Joseph was confined. Entrusting themselves to Joseph, the two captives shared their dreams for interpretation by God. The framed work measures: 51.5 x 47.5 inches.
