19th Century Mahogany Apothecary Box
A mahogany apothecary box, c.1820, with a brass-trimmed lid that boarders an inlaid star motif. The box is fitted with a brass escutcheon, the corners edges of the box are fitted with brass mounts. The hinged lid lifts to reveal individual compartments for each of the 22 hand-painted glass bottles of various sizes, as well as open centre compartment. The interior of the lid is fitted with a bevelled mirror. Dimensions: 4.75 x 7.25 x 12.5 in.
