French Porcelain and Gilt Bronze Baluster Urn with Lid

A 19th century French porcelain vase of slim baluster form with slender neck that is decorated with gilded bands and detailed foliate designs, surmounted by a pinecone-shaped finial capping the lid, the tapering and gilt trimmed foot mounted to a bronze base. The body is hand painted with an image of a panoramic view of a courtly excursion in the gardens surrounding classical architectural ruins, overlaid with a border of gold rinceau and floral patterns that are highlighted with blue and purple details, and is singed "E. Parot".
