French Louis XVI Style Parquetry Inlaid Buffet


A late nineteenth century French Louis XVI style buffet with a green marble top above two long drawers, constructed with mortise and tenon drawer joints, with fluted fronts and round gilt-bronze pulls, flanked by ormolu rosettes on rounded corners. Two cupboard doors are mounted with and surrounded by scrolling foliate ormolu mounts and escutcheon plates with fronts decorated in geometric cube motif parquetry. The case is raise on ormolu mounted-circular fluted, tapering legs. Measures: 41 ¼ x 47 ½ x 18 ¼ inches.
