Faux-book Pewter Flask with Renaissance-style Engravings


A pewter flask taking the form of a leather bound book with a banded spine and elaborately decorated covers. The front with a design of scrolling florals and foliate around an escutcheon centrepiece, all of which is surrounded by a raised border of ribbon and clover repeats. The back contains a conforming outer border that surrounds two central heraldic shields, displaying a coat of arms above a regal lion, amongst ornate scrolling foliage. The twist lid is fixed with a D-shaped ring, and the bottom of the flask contains an English pewter mark.
