Korean Celadon Vase with Flying Cranes and Cloud Design


A Korean vase with a celadon craquelure glaze with a flared rim above an elongated neck tapering into a pear-shaped body decorated with motifs of flying white cranes and clouds, the "thousand cranes" design, common to Korean Goryeo ware from the twelfth century, all set on a short straight foot with the underside of the base signed and stamped with maker's marks in Chinese. Measures: 11 ½ x 5 ½ inches.
