Italian Baroque-style Carved Walnut Throne Armchair
A large 19th Century baroque-style throne chair with an ornately carved walnut frame, which echoes the style of Venetian wood carver Andrea Brustolon (1662 - 1732), with an upholstered, upright raked back above a stuffed leather seat. The elbows of the padded arms are set with reclining putti, supported by putti resting on a the back of a lion, all supported on the head of richly carved winged lion. The ornately carved H-frame stretcher connects to the back legs, which have been carved in the form of a Blackamoor head. Measures: 52 ½ x 31 x 33 x 20 inches.
