A Set of Four Hand-Colored Lithographs of Birds

The lithographs are part of a series made by the artist and naturalist John Gould (1804 - 1881), made in England in the mid-nineteenth century and printed by the same company that collaborated with JWM Turner. Each hand-colored lithograph features a species of exotic bird in its native environment, including an in-depth, scientific description on the reverse.
