A Pair of Monumental French Iron Statues with Lamps on Stone Pediments
Standing on large, cut-stone pediments, these monumental French statues come from an estate outside of Paris. These very sensitive statues of young men holding aloft torches (i.e. putti torchere) were modeled by the classically trained sculptor Mathurin Moreau (French, 1822 — 1912), whose work adorns the Palais du Luxembourg and Gare du Nord, and cast by the equally celebrated sculptor Antoine Durenne (French, 1822 — 1895). The statues are available with or without the pedestals. (Discount made if sold without the pedestals.)
