A Napoleon III French Empire Style Bronze and Ormolu Mantle Clock with Victory Pulled by Lions
The mythical figure of Victory sounds her horn as her chariot is pulled by a pair of magnificent lions. Made by the award-winning Paris clockmaker AD Mougin, this hour-repeater clock is housed in the wheel of the chariot. The chariot, the figure of victory and the lions are sculpted from bronze and parcel gilt. The group sits atop a green marble pedestal, decorated with low-relief ormolu sculptures of Greco-Roman figures, and stands on four globular feet.
