A 19th Century Black Forest Bear Hall Tree


A nineteenth century carved linden wood Black Forest bear hall tree with the large standing bear, mouth open and glass eyes watching cubs above, on a naturalistic base that incorporates a crescent shaped drip tray, its one paw supporting a looped branch to hold umbrellas or walking sticks, and the other the branch up which its cubs have climbed. Two cubs are depicted at the top of the branch, amongst branches for hanging. Measures: 82 ½ x 27 x 22 inches.
