Hope Veiled by Kelsey Critchfield


Kelsey Critchfield (b. 1992) is a fine artist living in Salt Lake City, Utah. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Brigham Young University, and lived and worked at the Society of Illustrators in New York City. She has studied with many gifted and influential instructors throughout the United States and Italy.

Her paintings are influenced by many of her travel experiences and legendary artworks of the Old Masters. She loves to paint portraits and florals with a dark, moody aesthetic. She works mainly in oil, painting the traditional figure and portrait through a realistic perspective with contemporary themes.

Even though life can seem heavy and dark at times, we can look for the beauty and the light through the shroud of darkness that will bring us hope.
