16th Century Tudor Carved Oak Refectory Table with Plank Top and Carved Base

A 500-year-old dark English oak table with plank top, surmounting a matching base carved with floral and folk patterns typical of the Tudor era. The table once belonged to the diplomat Alexander Weddell, who served as the United States ambassador to Argentina and Spain. The table is well preserved, and bears the marks of use and age, including being carved with the initials of previous authors and showing natural warp and wear.
