Armstrong Farm at Little Dell by Danquart Weggeland

Trained at the Royal Academy in Copenhagen, Weggeland left school to join European converts to the LDS Church as they travelled to the Intermountain West by wagon. He was perhaps the earliest documenters of everyday life and scenery among the early pioneers. As an artist, he painted murals for the St. George, Logan, and Manti Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a mentor, he trained the first generation of native Utah artists, including J.T. Harwood, John Hafen, and J.B. Fairbanks.
