"Pioneer Woman" by Bryant Percy Baker


Bryant Percy Baker (English, 1881-1971)

Baker was born in London and is best known for his portrait statues. He moved to the United States in 1916 and continued to be recognized for his statues and portrait busts. 

Considered to be amongst Baker's most famous works is his Pioneer Woman statue which stands at seventeen feet high and is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma. This smaller version of "Pioneer Woman" was designed by Baker prior to the unveiling of the large monument.
