A marble statue depicting the moment Cupid saves the dying Persephone with his kiss. One of the most admired and duplicated sculptures in the world, the original by Antonio Canova (Italian, 1757 - 1822) is in the Musée du Louvre (Paris). This fine, nineteenth-century version is made of marble, and is faithful to the Neo-classical refinement of the original. The beautifully rendered figural grouping are displayed on a conforming grey-veined marble pedestal with demi-lune top. The entire piece measures: 73.5H X 34.5W X 16D. The pedestal alone measures: 45H X 34.5W X 16D.

28 ½ x 32 x 13 in.
