Rookwood Vase with vellum glaze by Ed Diers (American, 1871-1947)


An iris glazed balluster vase stamped “RP” and signed by the artist Ed Diers (American, 1871-1947). Founded in Cincinnati in 1880, Rookwood pottery was inspired by Japanese and French ceramics and quickly became a luxury item for the most stylish American homes, hugely influencing the Arts & Crafts movement both in America and Europe.
