19th Century French Oak Tantalus

A mid-nineteenth century French oak box tantalus with a locking, self-folding front and folding sides that open to reveal an interior fitted with a gilt-bronze and oak caddy that holds sixteen crystal pieces of stemware and four decanters with stops. The shaped edges and exterior of the box is decorated with copper mounts of a hunting motif.
