A portable table top secretaire decorated with contrasting diamond shapes inlaid in the corners of the lid, surrounding a central engraved inlaid cartouche and all enclosed with a thin border inlay, with the edges of the form enhanced with hammered brass trim. The hinged lid unfolds to a felt-covered writing surface, while the rolled top reveals a storage and shelving compartment that raises from within body of the piece. A single drawer with dovetail construction and a brass inset handle is available for extra storage beneath the writing surface. Two additional handles are set on the sides of the piece for portability.
